Socratika: Journal of Progressive Education and Social Inquiry was established in 2024 and is published by South Sulawesi Education Development (SSED). The journal was founded to provide an open-access academic platform for scholarly works in progressive education and contemporary social inquiry.

Since its establishment, Socratika has developed its editorial and peer-review practices, publication policies, and scholarly visibility while maintaining a commitment to critical, innovative, inclusive, and interdisciplinary research. The journal is published three times a year (every four months) and carries the electronic ISSN 3047-020X.

In 2026, Socratika was accredited at SINTA 4 under Decree No. 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026, dated 24 July 2026. The accreditation covers publications from Volume 1 No. 1 (2024) through Volume 5 No. 2 (2028).
