Plagiarism & Similarity Policy

Socratika: Journal of Progressive Education and Social Inquiry is committed to maintaining academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism, self-plagiarism, inappropriate text recycling, citation manipulation, or the use of another person's ideas, data, or words without proper acknowledgement.

Submitted manuscripts are routinely screened for similarity using Turnitin. The similarity report is used as an editorial screening tool and is not evaluated solely on the basis of a numerical similarity percentage. Editors assess the nature, source, context, and extent of the identified similarities before making an editorial decision.

Manuscripts containing unacceptable plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct may be returned for correction or rejected. Where concerns arise after publication, the journal will investigate the matter and may issue a correction, retraction, or other appropriate notice in accordance with its publication ethics and correction/retraction policies.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are properly cited and that submitted manuscripts represent original scholarly work. When allegations of plagiarism or research misconduct arise, Socratika follows recognized publication-ethics principles, including relevant COPE guidance.
